I am pleased to announce an update to SPost 13 for Stata 15. You can installed updated commands by running -adoupdate, update-. While SPost 13 ran correctly in Stata 15 under version control, several problems occured with nominal and ordinal model due to changes in how Stata 15 names parameters. SPost 13 has been updated to run with the new names. Two problems remain that are caused by bugs in Stata 15 that should be fixed in the next maintenance release. 1. Using value labels for the dependent variable sometimes cause an error in SPost commands. The solution is to remove the value labels for the dependent variable. 2. The varlabel option for estimates tables sometimes causes an error. The solution is to remove the option. The default random number generator was changed from 32-bit KISS generator to the 64-bit Mersenne Twister. Results in tests using random numbers can change dramatically. This is not a bug in the commands. If you encounter a problem, please send me a detailed description, ideally with a do-file that illustrates the problem using either an SPost datasets of one of Stata’s example datasets. With best regards, Scott Long
